Ranger Trip to Sangam India
12th JULY...
Hi All From India,
We're doing good, having a great time and experiencing lots. Everyone arrived safely, as did our bags very importantly! :)
Well, We had the opening ceremony on Thursday evening, Saree shopping and the Tailors on Friday, along with the International Night where our Irish dancing went down well, along with our Tea Brack, Fudge, Red Lemonade and much more.
The girls from GSUSA told a really nice story about Juliette Low which was fun and interesting to learn about her life.
We started Saturday with some WAGGGS sessions and then went on a walk around the neighbourhood of sangam in the afternoon. In the evening we went to a bollywood movie, it was great fun, not enough dancing but some hilarious scenes with Slyvester Stallone and Denise Richards. Also, a look alike Bono made a feature at one point, very funny!
This morning has been really good, we did a session on three of the problems affecting many member countries of WAGGGS, girls education, adolescent health and trafficking, we did some really interesting games to raise awareness of the problems and try to think of things we can do to help stop them.
Later today we are preparing scenes for our very own bollywood movie and then this evening we have a bollywood dancing session which we are all looking forward to.
We have another few interesting days still to come so I'll write again in a few days to update.
Hope everyone is well, there have been problems getting mobiles to work so if anyone contacts the Office to check how we're doing, just let them know we're all good and the girls will probably make a call home today/tomorrow.
Will update again later in the week.
Cya Soon,
Louise
