Ranger Day photos and report from Slade Harbour...

Rangers and Leaders set out on a sunny Saturday on 12th June to took part in the National Ranger Day at Sheilbaggan in Co. Wexford.
The group changed into wetsuits before hitting Slade Harbour for some fun coasteering. Safety first, however. The girls were given a thorough safety talk and then started their walk along the coast. Well done to the leaders from Buion Colmcille who thought they were going kayaking, but still took up the challenge!
Coasteering involved swimming in the sea into caves, jumping across blow holes and the biggest challenge was to choose the height of the rock from which to jump into the sea.
After lunch the group were taken to Duncannon Fort for abseiling. This was a huge achievement as the height from the fort to the beach was a bit daunting. Congratulations to all for taking up the challenge.
We ended a fantastic sunny day with ice-creams on the beach.
"We met at Sheilbaggan for the National Ranger Day where we were told we were going coasteering. It was brilliant and I really enjoyed jumping off the rocks into the sea, the leaders were really nice and helped us. I have never done anything so extreme before but this was really good.
Abseiling was really different, I have done it before on a tower but this was awesome as it was the first time I had abseiled off a building. It was really high but our instructors were really nice and helped us a lot.
I really enjoyed the Ranger Day and can’t wait for the Ranger weekend."
