International - Roundtable On Membership 2008

Malmo, Sweden Friday 7th - Sunday 9th November 2008

This was attended by Josephine Higgins and Andrea Rainey.

It was a very worthwhile conference, a lot was learned and many contacts
were made.

Some of the recommendations that could benefit CGI include;

1. Introduction to Leadership - courses/info available on the web
2. Update Toolkit - e.g. video to DVD, postcards, leaflets (not a book), updated
yearly
3. Inspiration Team - change to suit our needs
4. Guiding for a day in schools (or after school clubs), also University club/stalls
5. Guiding in Hospitals
6. Educate leaders - it's every leader's job to recruit! Bring awareness of how
essential it is; idea of yearly target/goals, e.g. 'increase by one member every
year at each section'

"Overall, a fantastic conference; we learnt a lot about other organisations, were inspired with new ideas and made many new contacts. It was our pleasure to represent CGI at international level. Many thanks."
