The Catholic Guides of Ireland is a voluntary organisation operating in both the Republic and Northern Ireland. It is open to all girls and women
regardless of religion. Guiding invites you to fulfil many of the challenges
that life has to offer through participation both as an individual as well as part of a company, in the rich and varied programme of indoor and
outdoor activities.
You can volunteer to help with any of the sections below or with the general administration of our organisation. Even if you don'tfeelyou have enough time to give a weekly commitment we atCGIare always glad of volunteers no matter how little time theycangive.
Age 5 - 6/7
The Cygnet meeting is based on fun and play activities including; art, craft and singing plus many other activities.
The Cygnet Guide programme is called 'Look What I Can Do!'
Age 6/7 - 10/11
A balance of activities is encouraged in a programme of fun, friendship and activity and includes a mixture of games, interest badges, indoor camping and many other challenging adventures.
The Brigín Guide programme is called 'Let's Do It!'
Age 10/11 - 17
Guides enjoy a flexible programme which encourages leadership through
the patrol system, the building up of self esteem and confidence. They enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
The Guide programme is called 'Count Me In!'
Age 14 - 19
Ranger Guides thrive on a varied range of activities from camping to challenging individual and group projects based on the interests of the group. They make their own decisions and plan and share group responsibilities.
The Ranger Guide programme is called 'Get With It!'
