In October, many Guides headed to the Sunny South, Carne Holiday centre, for the National Guide weekend that promised to be full of fun and laughter. After all the rooms were sorted and supper eaten the games began. Friends were fast made and hopefully will last a long time.
Saturday morning brought not only sunshine but Shielbeggan Outdoor Centre. The morning was spent on the climbing wall and the ropes course and we were delighted to see that everyone gave it a go. The afternoon was spent swimming in the freezing cold waters of the Irish Sea. To warm up after the refreshing swim the Guides were introduced to cross over bean bags. The evening was calm but certainly not quiet with X-factor, campfire and craft.
Sunday came along too fast. The Guides enjoyed taking part in a "Where is it" trail and more games. All weekend the Guides had been taking part in a 20 question game so this was finished as well. We then had a presentation on the Chief Commissioner Award. After a Guides Own, in which all the girls took part, we tidied up and finished up for the weekend.
